Volunteers are the true engine of our coalition. Volunteer opportunities include participation on one of our committees or helping out, as needed, with a program, letter-writing campaign, or special event. The focus of each committee is described below:
Public Awareness Committee: The Public Awareness Committee raises visibility for Pediatric Palliative Care, the needs of children - and their families - living with a serious illness, and the work of the coalition, by connecting with families, healthcare professionals, community partners, and the public through our newsletter and website, as well as social media, print media, community events, and by highlighting the stories of families.
Advocacy Committee: The Advocacy Committee is a voice for families and the healthcare community, promoting legislative and policy changes to increase access to, and coverage for, pediatric palliative care.
Education Committee: The Education Committee identifies learning needs and provides continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical skills related to pediatric palliative care for all clinical care providers, including, but not limited to, physicians, nurses, APRNs, social workers, child life specialists and chaplains.
Sustainability Committee: The Sustainability Committee helps ensure the coalition has the financial and community support needed to carry out its mission by creating opportunities for giving, securing grants, fostering philanthropy and building partnerships that strengthen the coalition’s long-term impact.
